Download the Case Report
To begin the bulk assignment process, locate the Case Report in the Reports section on Lens Home.
Case Import within Reports
When the Case Report loads, select the lower three-dot menu and select "Download data".

By default, the case report only pulls in the first 500 cases. If you have more than 500 cases, select All Results as the number of rows to include and select Download.

Update or Clear your Assignees
You can now update the column "assignee" in the exported Case Report. The assignee should be the e-mail address for the team member on Pattern, such as michael@patterndata.ai.
To clear an assignee, enter "unassigned" (all lower case and without quotations) in the assignee column.

Bulk Case Import
To update the assignees on the cases:
- Navigate to the homepage of the lens where you want the case added.
- Under the Management section, click on Import Cases.
- Import the Case Import file you just completed by selecting Select Case Import File.
- Select Complete Upload to complete your import.

After selecting your import file, the screen will display a list of rows with any errors, and the steps needed to correct those errors. This import will update the assignees and any other case data in the spreadsheet where the case_id field DOES have a matching case in Pattern. So, for example, any changes to an existing case's name, date of birth, or case status will also be made.
A Note on Custom Properties
If your firm utilizes Custom Case Properties, they can be uploaded via Import Cases. You will notice additional columns for those data points in the Case Import Template. To download the full case list of all existing data, including custom property data, navigate to the View All Cases page. Select the download button, check the box to include Custom Properties, and click download. Make your edits to the import file, and complete the Bulk Case Import steps 1-3 above.
