There are 2 ways to upload documents to an existing case in Pattern
- Individual Document(s) Upload
- For a specific existing case, you can upload one or more documents
- Bulk Upload
- Use this for uploading documents to a new case that does not exist, but one you are creating
Individual Documents Upload
To upload documents to an individual case:
- Navigate to the homepage of the lens where you want the case added
- Under the Management section, click on View All Cases
- Select the specific case that you want to upload documents to
- Navigate to the "Documents" table on the Case Page.
- Click the plus "+" sign button in the top right corner
- A file upload dialogue box will appear for you to click and select, or drag and drop documents into
- Once the documents have been selected, click 'Begin Upload' for the files to begin processing.
- The dialogue will update to confirm if all records loaded successfully.

If there is an error processing one or more files, the dialog will provide the reason it failed to load, such as:
- Unsupported File Type (only supported file types are PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, or DOCX)
- Encrypted PDF
- File is a duplicate of previously loaded document
- Size Limit
- File name includes special characters or extra spaces
You will need to correct the file and re-upload.
