What’s Changing?
We’ve heard your feedback about the meaning of “Stars” in Pattern. Previously, Stars were used to highlight entries of importance - either marked by Reviewers or flagged by our Pattern models - but without clear reasoning. To improve this experience, we’re replacing “Stars” with “Tags.”
What are Tags?
Tags explain why an entry is important. They are specifically tailored to the litigation so you can now see which entries are included in calculations and which have valid pieces of evidence. You’ll want to think about it as a label that identifies specific relevant markers.
Tags will also enhance reporting and exports because you can now filter the profile entries to only see those with specific tags applied.
Here is an example of how Tags will appear in the platform.
What You Can Expect:
When Tags are deployed to your litigation lens by your Client Success contact, you will see them automatically applied to the relevant entries. During the review process, you have the ability to remove individual tags from an entry if you do not agree with Pattern’s designation, or you can add a tag to an entry as you see fit. You may also notice tags that are greyed-out (Starred and None). These greyed-out tags are filters that cannot be removed from entries.
What This Means For You:
- You can start utilizing tags in tags-enabled lenses!
- Easily filter entries by tag.
- Quickly identify key data used in calculations.
- Understand model decisions with more transparency.
- Filter & pull reporting by specific tags.
FAQs
How are tags added in Pattern?
Tags are applied by our AI models and custom analytics based on key litigation criteria to highlight the most meaningful information.
What is happening to Stars?
Stars will remain for Reviewers to utilize internally for identifying entries that need additional review.
Can I create my own tags?
Not at this time. In order to maintain consistency across the review, Pattern users cannot create their own tags.
Use-Case Examples for Tags
RoundUp
Based on the litigation criteria, a few of the established tags include CNS Lymphoma, Aggressive, and Stage Multiplier. The relevant entries will be displayed and can easily be filtered by clicking on a specific tag. Here you can quickly see, by the color-coded indicator, the relevant entries that correspond to each of the tags for easy validation.
Talcum Powder
Based on the litigation criteria, a few of the established tags include Recurrence, Path Reports, and Metastatic Sites. In this scenario all entries containing tags are being shown, while entries with no tags are not being shown.
Exports
Tags are also now available in Exports, in lenses with Tags enabled. Litigation-specific exports will be configured by your Client Success manager, but custom exports are available for your configuration. There will be a new option under “Fields,” as seen below. If “Starred Responses” is checked, this will limit the export to ONLY starred responses, not any selected tags.
